Our 2020 Vision of Love
30 March 2020
To Irene, the love of my life, on our 7th wedding anniversary.

My beautiful bride, as we live out the years of a lifetime together, committed as One –Let us worship the Name which the angels acclaim, and echo the gospel of Jesus our KingTo a world enslaved by the shadow of Night, reflecting the radiant Light of the Son,Awaiting the Day, when our Hope will give way to the glorious bliss our Homecoming will bring.
I don’t understand how the years have gone by, but in closing my eyes the mist disappears…I’m a young man again, determined to win the beautiful maiden who smiled at me;The vigor of youth was a flame in my soul – in pursuing her heart I would calm all her fears –So I made her my wife, the love of my life – and my yearning for oneness was finally set free.
Lift up your eyes to the mountains and see how two pathways will cut through the forested heights,Each from inception, a different direction – yet merging at last, the two are made one;So a man meets a woman and love is awakened – a longing to hold and protect her ignites; In taking her hand he declares he will stand alongside her forever till journey is done.
I remember the day when our child was born, when laughter and love filled our family with bliss…How quickly he learns, and promptly discerns, all that he sees and observes in our lives; Therefore our duty is crucial indeed; in defining a man would our purpose remiss? So praying for strength, he will harvest at length the fruit of our labor when manhood arrives.
Mark how easy the words ‘in sickness and health’ roll off the tongue at the altar’s first kiss,So naïve to suppose that the hurricane’s throes are merely a threat of elsewhither’s devolve;Yet the withering onslaught of hardship advances, seeking the soul of our marital bliss…Though gasping for breath at the threshold of death, the power of hell cannot crush our resolve.
Soon, my beloved, our footsteps will mark the heavenly strand of eternity’s shore,Where sorrow and pain, and the curse of the slain, will never again mar a people set free;A little while, my love, we must tread on this earth, enduring the trials which lie here in store; Through every emotion, with steadfast devotion, looking to Him Who alone calms the sea.

Behold, my beloved, the moment has come! The Lamb is approaching to gather His Bride;Creation rejoices, in triumph their voices proclaim the Exalted Redeemer is here! What a day that will be when our Hope is revealed, disclosing forever the Promise inside –To dwell with the LORD when our life is restored, where True Love will finally vanquish all fear. © J.
